Portrait photography in Edinburgh Old Town is one of my favourite things. Hannes fell in love with Edinburgh when he first visited not even a year ago – and he has now been here three times already. What a great occasion to capture his love for the city in portraits!
To celebrate this gem of a city, we went for a walk around the Old Town. Starting at The Vennel, then up Victoria Street, down the Royal Mile and ending at the Parliament. It was in the middle of August, and bustling with the Fringe Festival. But we were up to the challenge to find good photo spots in the city centre.
It’s good to know that there are always places that are not as frequented by tourists, such as Dunbars Close Garden, a hidden oasis just off the Royal Mile.
Hannes was also keen for a more contemporary background. The area behind the Scottish Parliament with its grey walls and clean architecture is just perfect for that.
It was great to capture your memories of this beautiful city and I hope you’ll be coming back for more Scotland experiences!
